Janell, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
So my background has always been surrounded by being active, started out young playing sports, all the way to being a collegiate athlete, As well as a personal trainer, so it’s been instilled in me to enjoy that lifestyle, & comes with that is the love for active wear! So it started from an idea that i had been processing over and over again, thinking of something special that could be beneficial in order to reach women from the inside out…and then all of a sudden one day it hit me, to come up with a brand that would speak to Women’s athletic/active appearance but also the concept of being RAW- which speaks to the realness of who we are as women from the inside out, and that’s where the name came from, Real Athletic Women’s Wear (RAWW).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but with any type of success comes challenges & moments of uncertainty, which has kept me on my toes and lit a fire into me to keep pushing! But some of my struggles have been finding reliable vendors that provide quality materials, getting my website up and running smoothly, and having an effective marketing plan to get my brand out to consumers.

My business is an athletic/active wear brand that caters to women in all shapes and sizes. We specialize in making women feel at their very best even in comfortable, yet fashionable active wear! I am most proud of as a company for being invited to be apart of a community project called Bridging the Gap, which promotes being environmentally friendly and reaching the hearts of our youth by partnering with them and teaching them the purpose of loving ourselves for who we are- which coincides with my companies message.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is when I have set a goal and worked hard in order to make sure I achieve it, regardless if it may have taken me longer than I may have planned for it to take. With success, I have learned that it’s about the journey and celebrating ALL victories in its entirety.
