Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Hall.
Sara, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started taking The Dailey Method back in 2014- I had moved from Dallas, TX to Seattle, WA and needed a way to meet and connect with new friends. I was a runner, and wow- The Dailey Method was an amazing compliment to running! I eventually would drop running in favor of The Dailey Method, but not before it took me from 9.5 min miles to 7.5 min miles. I’ve always enjoyed moving my body, but the mind/body connection was so powerful, I forgot I was working out! At a community event, four months into my membership, the owner of the Seattle location asked me to be an instructor. I became an instructor, and about three months into that, I knew that The Dailey Method was where my business skills and entrepreneurial desires would collide. I spent the next four years in the highest of highs and lowest of lows: saving, business planning, honing my skills as an instructor, recruiting, etc. until I arrived on Fort Worth as the home for my Dailey Method. See- I’m a dreamer by nature, so when I dreamed up my own boutique fitness studio, I also cooked up a kiddo.
My husband’s family lives in Fort Worth, and I knew it was the perfect spot to fulfill my vision. I trained instructors throughout her early days in my garage and in my living room, and our amazing crew opened doors in June of 2018, right above the (then) Americado restaurant, and (now) home of The Moon. I took one more leap three weeks ago- I left my job as a business analyst (that I held all through baby and brand new barre + cycle studio!). I have watched our community grow into something that’s changing lives and truly introducing some joy and happiness into our Fort Worth community. I have watched Moms that have never left their kids leave their kiddos for an hour, and kick butt at a barre class. I have been lucky enough to receive a text that told me I was the reason that my client left their job for something they knew would make them happier– can you even imagine?! My latest leap from my own job is because of texts like that. The Dailey Method is my passion, and I know it’s changing and going to change to so many lives in the Fort Worth community. I’m grateful to have the support + opportunity of my TDM tribe to make this next leap into 2020!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Sure hasn’t! I’ll share I think my biggest struggle was within my own mind. My mother attempted suicide in April of this year. I’ve openly shared that my parent’s own health struggles were a huge reason why I opened The Dailey Method- my dad died of cancer in 2012 and my mom has been in a wheelchair since then as well. I think far scarier than all that is your mind- what you tell yourself about who you are. When my mom tried to kill herself, it was such a shock to my system that I had to reassess my own values and if the job I had, the studio I was running, and the family I was supporting were really all in line with my core values. What I realized is that I value community, making people feel seen, being and doing good, being an exceptional mom, wife, teacher, and business owner… and some of my actions weren’t in line with my values. I think so often, as women, in particular, we are trying to please and be everything to everyone, and we don’t remember who we are and what’s important to us. I learned to reassess my values, and I’m still working to live in line with them.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Dailey Method Fort Worth – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I’m the owner and operator of The Dailey Method, but I’m also part therapist and coach. My barre + cycle studio specializes in cultivating community. We bravely step into your mind and help you get more connected to it, so you can more effectively move your body. We are the most racially and culturally diverse community, and we are genuinely interested in who you are, what your goals are for yourself, and how we can help support you to get to your best version of yourself.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
I was the daughter of a doctor and a nurse. I grew up knowing that it was important to impact a life. That your deepest desires for what you want in the world can only manifest when you work through the relationships that you have with other people. Both of my parents were pretty successful in their careers, and I’m confident that translated into my achieving nature. I knew that I have to leave my footsteps on the world from a very early age.
