Meet Ebony Moore-Bell of Luvly Lashes in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Moore-Bell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ebony. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.

I’m originally from Jackson Mississippi, grew up with a loving and supportive family that gave me the impression that there were a lot of options for me out there. My mother was a single parent but she made sure we had everything we needed. I’m the oldest of three and have a niece and two nephews.

I moved to Dallas in November 2015 for a better opportunity not only for me but for my family as well. I started working as a billing agent for a corporate company and didn’t feel appreciated. So, I stepped out on faith and quit my job. As far back as I can remember, the idea of starting my own business was always appealing. I just never knew when, where or how… I got to give thanks to my family and husband for pushing me. I came up with a current and some future goals than made it a reality. I graduated from ITS Academy of Beauty in Plano TX. Now, I’m a Licensed Esthetician/Master Lash Artist.

Has it been a smooth road?
I have to say my biggest obstacles/challenges I’ve ever had to overcome in my life and with my business has actually been my own perspective. The lies I used to tell myself about why I wasn’t achieving my dreams. Why I’m not believing in myself? Why I’m scared. I think we can stand in the way of our own dreams and visions. I love making customers happy and resolving solutions. And that makes everything else much easier.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Luvly Lashes story. Tell us more about the business.
I started Luvly Lashes November 2017 out of my two-bedroom apartment. Now, I preparing to open my own salon. I never even imagine making it this far but I got to say I’m proud of myself. I knew no one was going to give me my dream job so I had to figure out. Luvly lashes is now only known for lashes. When I open the salon, we are offering facials (chemical pill/Microdermabrasion/anti-aging/acne treatment), brow/lash tint, full body waxing, microblading and body wraps. Location coming soon. How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I see my business most definitely expanding from a salon suite to its own building. Changing the name, upgrading services, adding more estheticians and cosmetologists. You will be able to get you a facial, lashes and your hair done.
