Meet Rob and Brittany Clay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob and Brittany Clay.

Rob and Brittany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Our love for music is what brought us together and has actually been accountability for us! We met at a concert in Oklahoma City where we both were extended the honor of opening up for Vickie Winans as solo artists. From there, we continued running into each other at different events and we were in a stage play together which allowed us to see each other more as well.

One night Rob was doing a set in OKC for a We Tell Stories event and Brittany was in attendance. That night, Rob mustered up the courage to ask Britt out and she said YES!

After a brief four months of dating, Rob proposed to Brittany on stage at a concert in Ft. Smith, Ar. They have been married 12 years and counting and are where they are today because of a strong circle of healthy couples that pour into them on a daily basis. R&B believes that iron sharpens iron and having a strong community is important to maintain a balanced relationship.

Rob and Brittany (R&B) started doing music together immediately after getting married and vowed to release a healthier alternative to love music that promotes strength and encouragement for couples that are married, engaged, and intentionally dating.

R&B’s mission is helping couples REMEMBER why they fell in love, FIGHT to stay in love, and LEARN to love again! Their desire is to create a divorce free culture through the love of Christ and they accomplish this through the message in their music, concerts, speaking engagements, seminars/workshops, conferences, date nights, and group events.

Has it been a smooth road?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! One of the biggest lies and mistakes that a couple can make is putting on “the perfect mask” for the public to make things look all good when in essence they are really struggling and not realizing that their transparency about their challenges are there to be a light and encouragement for others.

We dealt with a lot of things from financial challenges, debt, trust issues, insecurities, arguing over small things sometimes that turned into big things, lack of balance when it came to spending time with each other vs anything or anyone else, help around the house, being a blended family and disciplining the kids, the list goes on…

We were on the brink of calling it quits but we CHOSE to get down to the root; the hidden issues of why we were dealing with things and seek help from PROFESSIONAL counselors, church leaders, and a strong circle of married couples who are bold enough to tell you about YOU!!! THAT changed everything for us.

We still have a lot to work on but we do it TOGETHER now in agreement to get to a better place in every aspect of our lives together.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with R&B Ministries – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We are R&B Ministries. Our mission is, “To help couples remember why they fell in love, fight to stay in love and learn to love again.” We serve couples who are married, engaged, and dating with a purpose. We specialize in Date Nights for couples that includes mini living room concerts, game nights, and our version of sip and paints which we call Love on Canvas, just to name a few.

We host seminars and workshops to provide tools to couples to help equip and enhance things that they may or may not already have in works for their relationship.

In addition to the above-mentioned things, we are also known for our music. We have released 4 love albums together (R&B presents… The Heart of Clay, R&B presents… Love Language, Speak Love, and SIXTEEN). We plan to begin works on project #5 in the Spring of 2020. We are also known for releasing T-shirts with BOLD STATEMENTS on them as it pertains to couples. For example, You Can’t Spell MATE Without T-E-A-M, Power Couple (ACTIVATE), My Man Is A King, My Wife Is FIYEEEN (FINE), and Spoused Up are just a few of the t-shirts that we have made available to couples to wear while out and about!!

We believe what sets us apart from others is our attention to detail and intent to serve and strive to create a divorce free culture through the love of Christ. We strive to be consistent in our events and music while making sure those in attendance or those who hear will always be impacted and changed for better in their relationships!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
LISTEN… We LOVE our city very much and we have a BIG LOVE for DALLAS and the surrounding areas.
We are booked for a lot of different events there. What we like the most is that they show us so much love and keep bringing us back for more! The level of hospitality is certainly incredible! Like the saying goes, “EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS!”

If there was one thing we would say that we like the least about the city is that they don’t bring us enough!!! We would come through so much more often if afforded the opportunity.
