Meet Sharoya Hall of Imprettythrifty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharoya Hall.

Sharoya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Thrifting has always been a part of my life, even before I knew what it was. From thrift shopping with my aunt, trailing behind her with a basket throwing things in the basket and leaving it after we were done…you can do that at thrift shops since things are usually pretty organized,l. I also remember waking up early Saturday mornings to binge shop at garage sales with my mom.

As I get older, I found myself breaking the bank to get the newest and trendiest outfits in an attempt to impress my peers. When I got to college, I began doing more bargain shopping. Being on a college student

budget, I found ways to put outfits together for cheap.

Thrifting was reintroduced to me when I went to visit my grandmother in Corpus Christi. She would take me to these little mom and pop shops to find pre-loved furniture items she wanted to refurbish. I would go straight to the clothes section and find items for 25 cents and up!

I fell in love with the idea of thrifting from that moment on. It allows me to be creative with different styles, different looks; original and trendless. I researched places in San Antonio and began my thrifting journey in the city. Some of my top favorite places sell

items from 25 cents and up.

I became 110% invested in just thrifting all of my clothes. I would get so many compliments on my outfits and wouldn’t hesitate to tell people how much I paid for them. I had friends encourage me to start a blog and share my thrifting journey with my followers. They also helped with coming up with the name “being pretty and thrifty”.

In that process, I wanted to create something that stood out from the rest and that was very unique in its own way. I then

realized that a lot of my items were all $10

and under. From there, I built this platform to show women and men of all ages that you can be fabulous, stylish, and fashionable without breaking the bank, $10 and under to be exact.

That opened so many doors to being able to style people, personally shop for people, be a featured stylist in fashion shows, and being invited to speak to young girls about how to dress for success for less.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a smooth road so far! I’ve received amazing feedback from my blog and services in general.

Please tell us about Imprettythrifty.
With Imprettythrifty, this blog showcases amazing thrifted looks for all under $10, provides services where I can help shop and find items for my clients. I also provide consultations that helps my clients learn about their style, body types, dislikes/likes, etc…I’m most proud of its mission alone; it allows people to be creative, confident, and open-minded when shopping. Another venture that I’ve started is “create the look from my closet”. With this service, I help recreate looks with items my clients already have in their closet. Instead of going out to buy something new, you can recreate a look and make it look brand new!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
As of now I don’t have anything I would do differently.
