Meet Miya Jaye of Goddess Jewels, By Miya in Mesquite/ Garland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miya Jaye.

Miya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always knew that I was supposed to be doing something more with my life, but I wasn’t exactly sure what it was. God blessed me to be skilled in many things, but choosing which one to maximize on was the hardest part. I prayed about it and wrote down all the things I liked to do. The two main gifts that stuck out to me was that I love to smell good, and I love jewelry. The next thing I knew, I was going down to the city to register the business name I came up with and began practicing and creating my own pieces.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road. I think too much, and I overwhelm myself a lot. You doubt your own skills, you become discouraged because things do not move as quickly as you would like them to. There is always someone trying to tear you down instead of building you up and rooting for you. There will always be a counterfeit spirit lurking, trying to compete by copying things you know God personally gave you to craft. But you must keep going, because sooner or later, things will work out for you, just make sure that you don’t stop! Just keep going.

Please tell us about Goddess Jewels, By Miya.
My company, Goddess Jewels, by Miya is designed to cater to women: the 9-5 career woman, the gym rat, the mother of two, the party girl, the student, the waitress, or the CEO. From necklaces to bracelets, earrings, rings or watches, each piece is custom created and designed to “Reveal the Queen in YOU.” I am most proud of being able to do something I love. What sets me apart from others is that I believe in myself and my ability to help others see themselves too. Confidence is one of the most beautiful things a woman can possess.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood would have to be making sure that everyone knew that I was going to be someone important one day. Someone big and important, and that I would do special things. I had so many dreams that I recall as a child and I still remember them to this day.
