Today we’d like to introduce you to Peytan Ivory.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Peytan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
So to make a long story short Flight Crew Productions got started with my business partner (Terrance “Brisk” Summerville) and I. We met in a barbershop of all places! Before he came along I was doing music solo with help from a few nothing too wild though. Whenever I think back to that day in the barbershop it gives me chills because I just so happened to be at the right place at the right time. I don’t think it was a coincidence.
That’s God working! Brisk and I both work in the airline industry hence the name “Flight Crew”. It was just him and I rocking the first year & a half. We just kept pushing out music, hitting shows, meeting more like-minded individuals and started adding to the roster from there. We currently have four artists under our label. Shoutout to Rita, Guru, and Mr. Valentino! I would be considered the fourth artist. In a nutshell that’s how Flight Crew Productions came about!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No smooth road! It never is when you’re chasing your dreams. I think the biggest struggles for me has been the financial aspect of it and finding the right people to work with. They say invest in yourself and I wholeheartedly believe in that statement but some times that’s not easy to do when you got adult bills.
Advice to all the independent artists out there get you a savings account and learn to decipher between your needs/wants. Next struggle for me was finding a team. When I first started out I had no idea what I was doing! I just wanted to rap. If I would have had some guidance back in the day I think my story would be a bit different but everything happens for a reason. This is my path and for some reason, it had to happen like this. No complaints it’s been fun! I never imagined things being like this. I’m very grateful.
Flight Crew Productions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Flight Crew Production’s business model is that a person isn’t fully living life until they are pursuing their passions. We are about living out our dreams over at Flight Crew Productions. We are young individuals believing in ourselves and what we do. We are what feelings sound like. Get to know us. We are an amazing/dope group of individuals taking off in our lives. I’m part owner of Flight Crew/Artist.
I specialize in free-styling, swagging my butt off, and bringing joy/laughter. What I’m most proud of as a company? I’m proud of the growth. Brisk and I started out meeting at his house to write then booking studio time to me moving into his place where we built a home studio to now actually having a full-blown facility. What sets me apart? My hunger, belief in self and my unwillingness to throw in the towel.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success as living out your dreams! Flight Crew business model, you are not taking off in life until you are living your passions! That’s success to me. I consider myself a success already. I’m living out my passion. Of course, I’m not exactly where I want to be but I’m on my way that’s for sure. I understand I have more work I gotta put in but that’s what goals are for. Before I was seriously doing music like I am now I used to dream of the things I currently have. Not knowing it when I was younger I manifested all that I got at the moment. I’m keeping that same energy for my 2020 goals.
