Meet Shari Deason of Industrial Swag

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shari Deason.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have lived in Dallas since 1985. The mother of 2 very talented children, Preston, currently studying Engineering and Cyber Security at SMU and Regan, currently studying Graphic arts at SCAD. As my children entered High School and my “mom duties” started declining, I found that I had a little extra time on my hands. Through a series of unexpected encounters, my longtime boyfriend and I started 3 companies in one year. All intertwined in such a wonderful way to create a cohesive corporation. A lot of hard work and determination still have all 3 companies alive and successful today. Industrial Swag was the “baby” of these companies and is quickly becoming the front runner.

Has it been a smooth road?
The companies seemed to grow quicker than expected, so the garage was no longer an option. Finding a warehouse, buying a larger vehicle and trailer and navigation growing businesses. You can’t do the job without the right tools! Figuring out what tools were needed was the biggest challenge.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Industrial Swag – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Industrial Swag Architectural Salvage and Décor is Unique Urban Industrial Décor created from salvaged materials. With so many chain furniture stores flooding the design market, Industrial Swag is a designers “out of the box” treasure. One of a kind custom made industrial furniture, lighting and art combine with a diverse array of eclectic elements to offer an unforgettable visual statement for your home or business. As a metal artist, I design and personally create all custom items in the Industrial Swag showroom. The hunt for the treasure, the creative process, the bending and welding, the completion of a personalized piece and the joy on my client’s face…this is why I love what I GET to do every day!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have lived in Dallas for many years now and have seen rundown areas begin to thrive. Bishop Art, Trinity Groves, The Cedars and the rise, fall, then rise again of Deep Ellum. The growth of the art communities has spawned a growth in the Dallas Museums. I love creative people and the opportunity the can bring to a city!
