Today we’d like to introduce you to Javon Rhodes.
Javon, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My business started simply based off of my work ethic. At the time I started my business I was working three jobs and never had any free time. I was okay with that because sometimes that’s what it takes to be successful. Mungry is not about being greedy for things but to have a drive to want more in life. I started the business with just an idea and a 9-5 job now fast forward to 2020, I have made about 500 items all by me. All the work I do is custom from my letters to the logos. I honestly would not have made it this far without the man upstairs.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would be lying if I told you it was easy. I don’t want it to be easy honestly, I enjoy the bumps in the road. It helps for a better story down the line. For the most part, I’ve struggled with managing the business because I’m the only one running it. Other than that its been good!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mungry story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in custom clothing. It had style with a business mindset behind it. My different from others because my brand is not just a brand its a way of life. Whenever you wear Mungry, you should want to go get all that you can.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck good or bad. I’m just a God-fearing man that has the same 24hrs in a day as the next man.
