Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaelon Jackson and Dylan Lyons.
Jaelon and Dylan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In high school, we always talked about different ways to inspire people that they have a purpose and also to boost self-esteem and one that stuck was a clothing brand. We named it Royal Breed because Royalty always keeps their chin up and their head held high. At the time, it was just an idea. The idea died down as we went to two different colleges. Dylan went to Grambling State and I went to the University of North Texas. After a school year went by, Dylan transferred to the University of North Texas. The idea came back to life as we were brainstorming on how to start a clothing brand with little to no resources. Eventually, we found a way and built off of it. Now we have our own website, which is royalbreedclo.com, with a few different designs. We do have a lot more in store and it will be coming soon.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth at all. The main struggle we had was finding a way to even be able to afford to start a clothing brand with us being college students.
Please tell us about Royal Breed Clothing.
Our company, Royal Breed Clothing, specializes in shirts and hoodies at the moment but we plan to branch out into so much more. What we’re proud about and what sets us apart is that we have a purpose and we’re not just a clothing brand. We want people not only to feel good physically in our clothes but mentally as well. We created this brand to be promote high self-esteem in everyone. Who doesn’t want to feel like a king?
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Jaelon: My favorite childhood memory would be when I first got a Playstation 3.
Dylan: My favorite childhood memory is getting my first car.
