Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Taylor.
Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.

Fashion has always been a part of my life! My grandmother Mary started it all for me, teaching me how to sew. Making skirts, pillows or dramatic themed outfits for the plays at church. I’ve always been the “girly girl.” I never like to follow trends. I see a fabric or an outfit and think of a thousand ways to change it, spice it up and make it my own. I truly believe there are no limits when it comes to fashion.
I worked in the customer service and collections field for ten plus years. I became so comfortable with “just working” I set my dreams aside. I would see people taking chances on their dreams. I knew I had dreams too but I was too scared of the unknown. I realized I was just going with the motions in life, almost like a robot. I was living for the happiness of others and compromising my own. I lost myself trying to uphold an image for the satisfaction of others for so long I lost myself. I was truly wearing a mask just going with the motions. I lost my purpose and, most of all, self-love. I truly didn’t know who the girl in the mirror was anymore and I had to change that. I was no longer comfortable with just living and I was the only person who could change that.
In July of this year, I took a chance on me and launched Outcast Riches. My dreams are turning into reality and I vowed to give my all and never give up on me again! I attained my LLC started a Website, Facebook, Instagram and Google. I am truly blessed to have very supportive friends and family that push me and genuinely want to see me win. Sometimes you have to reevaluate yourself and the people around you then go back to the drawing board. It’s never too late to find your purpose and genuinely make YOU happy inside and out.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think I realized how many late nights and tears truly go into starting your own business until I got started! It was definitely rocky in the beginning. I literally learned how to get my business started through google! Researching, watching countless videos and learning from trial and error. I realized it’s all a part of being an entrepreneur!
Stepping out my comfort zone and not overthinking are my biggest obstacles. Before starting Outcast Riches, I was a very private person with a small social circle. I realized that I can’t be too hard on myself and I have to step outside of my normal laid back approach. I’m willing to go through any obstacle thrown my way because I know it will all be worth it.

If you can think of it, IT CAN BE DONE! I believe there are no limits when it comes to creativity and designing. “I dare you to be you.”🖤 Is the slogan for my company. I feel like so many people are living for the approval or acceptance of everyone else except who matters first!
“Make Me Over” is one of the popular services for custom fashion designs. You can turn your old or new denim jeans, jackets, shorts or shirts into custom pieces. You have the option of distressing, cuts, fringing, bleaching, paint, patches, glitter, chains, crystals, rhinestones, bandanas, fabric, letters, pictures basically anything you can think of!
“Seamstress,” I love to sew and create special pieces for any vision! In January, I will be launching 3/4 special collections. I’m so excited to bring a new wave of clothing!
“Custom Home Décor” is also a popular service. I love to add pizazz and create custom pieces to add or set the tone of a room, from Canvas’s, seasonal decor, vanities, mirrors, centerpieces, floral arrangements to dining tables and chairs. Let’s create your vibe!
“Personal Stylist” for baby showers, weddings, birthdays or special events and you need help finding or creating the look or style you vision. You may want to switch your image or everyday look! “I dare you to be YOU!”
“Custom Event Planner” event planning whatever your vision is for your wedding, baby shower, graduations, birthday, photoshoot, surprise engagement or any other special event I can bring your vision to life.
“Online Boutique ” different styles for Women, Men and Children. Shoes, purses and accessories all at an affordable price.
I love seeing the smiles on my client’s faces when they feel good because they know they look good!! I offer a professional experience to all clients, big or small each client is a priority! I am available to my clients around the clock! You are sent a detailed invoice and updates on progress from start to finish. Outcast Riches is also available to lend services to charities, community service events, private charity events and non-profit organizations. I just want to be great and create one of a kind pieces for the world to see!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have a few but my proudest moment as of now is the SUPPORT! I don’t think people realize how much it means to just have someone like, share or comment on your projects. That one share, tag or recommendation can open the door to my next order or the opportunity to a bigger platform like creating a clothing line!
