Today we’d like to introduce you to Cortney Rose.
Hi Cortney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
2011 my life changed. This was just a few years after my family had suffered from losing everything with the real estate crash in 2007-2008. The aftermath stripped us of our pride and dignity. Something inside of me clicked. After seeing everything my mom worked for go out the window so fast, I had to do something I met a man that had his own tax company, after he prepared my taxes, he said, “I see something in you, I want you to work with me.” 2011 I worked for his company. It turned out he didn’t pay me after bringing over 100 clients to his business, which equaled over $25,000 dollars. I used what I learned from him, took the lessons and the loss, and laid it as the foundation to build my company. 2012 I cashed out my 401k and dumped every dollar I had toward my business.
Nine years later, I’ve yet to look back. Along the way, I’ve experienced the unimaginable. Difficulty, moments that appeared like permanent defeat, losses, betrayal, you name it. Instead of allowing it too bitter me, change me for the worst, I’ve taken the bricks thrown at me and laid them as part of the foundation. The foundation to go higher, further, help more, create a company with a culture of integrity, radiating light, positive energy, support, transparency, and authentic leadership. This industry has allowed me to make six figures in four months since age 23. Covid-19 was the pillar to build higher and dig deeper. During the pandemic, as I was sitting on the couch, I begin to reflect back on what I went through after losing everything and how much this tax industry changed my life. I was inspired to create “No 9-5, A Mini Tax Course, Make 5-figures in 4-months.” to teach others the tax industry. Now my mission is the help others create the same, take the bricks thrown at them, and build on them just as I did. This journey hasn’t been easy. But it has equipped me for life. It’s taught me to have a vision, create a plan, and be relentless until you see it through. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road hasn’t been easy. The major struggles I’ve experienced along the way were doing business with the wrong people. And struggling to believe in me.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is being free from past trauma, a healed heart, healthy relationships, the courage to go after your dreams, and financial stability.
