Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Gaitan.
Hi Natalia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi! I am Natalia, the creative director behind PowerUp Brand and Design. I am in the business of empowering women through Graphic and Web Design. I am a fashion and Industrial designer and I have been working in multiple environments of the design world for over ten years. I’ve always loved helping people through the magic of design and like many, I decided to turn my passion into a business. I have been empowering entrepreneurs through my own business since 2019 and it has been the most rewarding adventure being able to support small businesses with their web and brand design. Now I use all the knowledge I have acquired throughout my corporate career to help women-owned businesses create unique brands with a memorable online presence through storytelling. I moved to Texas in 2015 and it has been one of my best adventures yet!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a great adventure building a business in North DFW. I connected with my first clients through Facebook and immediately was surprised by the amazing women that I met through the multiple Mom Groups. The power of women empowering women really comes alive in small communities like the ones I have found in Plano and Frisco. Strangers became clients, clients became cheerleaders and supporters and after that, we have become great friends. You can never underestimate the power of women coming together, especially mothers.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in Graphic and Web design for female-owned businesses. Why women? Because women are AMAZING and their stories never stop inspiring me. I love working with entrepreneurs that are looking to give their side hustle a legit business look. I am so proud of all my clients and all the wonderful things they accomplish every day! Their stories are beyond fabulous, working full-time jobs, caring for their families and after 9 pm, when everyone is finally sleeping, they start working on their dream!
Through Power Up Brand + Design, I’ve been able to help authors, musicians, interior designers, vacation rental property owners, sports instructors, electricians among many other entrepreneurs and business owners, move their business forward. They have a great idea and I bring the magic design sauce and help them create great brands. I offer multiple design services from Logo Design and Branding Makeovers to full-on Brand and Website Creation. I understand my clients have a lot on their plate and that maybe design is not their first language, so it is very important to me that they are involved in the process so we can create together as a team. As many of my clients start working on their side hustle after they finish their full-time job or maybe after the kids go to bed, I keep my schedule flexible and into the night so we can sit down and chat on zoom and review the project when they feel comfortable.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think the key to Power Up Brand and Design is empathy. I always talk about designing with empathy. Being a female entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges that women in business face. I know what it feels like to try to do it all, at work, at home, at life, and find yourself giving your dreams the last ounce of energy you have left at the end of the day. I am a passionate Designer and I love having the opportunity to work doing what I love to do, so my dream is to use my superpowers to help other women like me empower businesses and achieve their business goals.
