Meet Cydney Harris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cydney Harris.

Cydney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In October 2018, I launched a nonprofit organization called the Create Her Foundation, which aims at reaching and empowering young ladies through my journey of manifestation. Through this manifestation, I’ve found a passion for serving the homeless, being a servant in the community and helping young adults reach their destiny. When human beings experience trauma or life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My passion is to help bring healing to young adults who have experienced a disappointing or stressful experience through spiritual guidance and purpose.

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised primarily in Memphis, Tennessee. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Professional Studies with a minor in Healthcare Administration from the University of Memphis. I relocated to Dallas, Texas, after graduation to further pursue career opportunities.

Fast forward to today, the Create Her Foundation is steadily growing with a sisterhood of over 300 members. We officially launched our Mentoring Program for young girls ages 10-16 in May 2021! Our Sun B.E.A.M.S Mentoring Program consists of ten beautiful young ladies. We are so excited to bring resources that will consist of promoting educational growth, self-esteem, health, professional etiquette and of course, fun. As the Founder, my number one goal is to continue to promote growth and evolvement. The journey doesn’t stop here, “Let’s Create the Lifestyle you desire, Together!”

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! I wish. Honestly, any and everything takes hard work! My life journey has certainly had its highs and lows. So when I first started to Create Her, I hosted by the first event with mostly family and close friends. I remember speaking my truth and my passion for bringing women together. Yes, I cried, yes I forgot my whole speech, but I kept going until I got my point across.

One of my biggest struggles was CONFIDENCE. I lacked confidence in myself. It allowed me to be fearful of self. Even when I was supported, I started to create this idea of being scared of the unknown, but I never stopped. I realized the more I spoke about it, the more I started to gain confidence in who I was and the impact my life has on others. I tell everyone, The Create Her Foundation is not just for women who need support. It’s for me too.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Executive Director of the Create Her Foundation 501c(3). I specialize in Business Consulting / Brand Management / Professional Mentorship / Event Coordinating and Design.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
One of my favorite quotes is “What’s meant will Always Be…” This quote is a constant reminder to be patient. Covid-19 had a major impact on everyone. During this unfortunate crisis, it allowed me to restructure and to remind myself, “this time was meant.”
