Hi Taylor , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Taylor and I am the owner of Dallas Diamond Bar. Since I was a little girl I had an obsession with diamonds & diamond jewelry. I can remember sitting around and doodling novice sketches of what my “dream engagement ring” would look like. In 2015 I started buying loose diamonds and engagement rings off Craigslist, selling apps and pawn shops. My end goal was to take these pre owned dated pieces and recreate something new, modern and beautiful. After I had a few of these completed, I would sell them. After a few of these sales, I realized this could turn into a business. I just knew I needed to find a more reliable source to get my diamonds. At this point, the Investigating and research within the industry began. I took the next 2 years to really teach myself the ins and outs of the diamond trade. I also met people within the trade that helped lead me to a reliable ethically sourced diamond supplier. Around this time frame, I knew I needed to scale my business and take it to the next level. Thankfully, social media made that possible. Dallas Diamond Bars IG was established in 2019. Most of my business these days comes from Instagram, partnerships with influencers and word of mouth. I have a small office in north Dallas and work by appointment only. My long term goal is to became a “brand” and eventually become the gold standard for the diamond buying process throughout the country. What is my process, you are probably asking? It’s simple. Schedule a consultation with me, come into my office and let the fun begin! It all starts with the diamond. The client comes to my office where I show them several different diamonds. They can try on the diamond with a fake setting that allows them to try it on their finger. Secondly, once the diamond is purchased, We start exploring diamond setting options. I use a series of previous pictures from work I have done, Pinterest and details from the client to come up with the perfect setting! Once the client and myself all get on the same page, the setting design is started. Every completed engagement ring, diamond band, diamond earrings etc comes with a certified Insurance appraisal. I also work with clients all over the country and if they are not located in Dallas (like 50% of my Clients are not) then I pay for next day insured shipping to the client. Recently, I have partnered with a wedding venue, photographer, videographer, florist, event planner and the list goes on. I would love to be a one-stop-shop for the entire wedding experience. I truly feel like there is nothing else in life that would make me feel as fulfilled, excited and thankful to get up and go to work everyday.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
New entrance into the market. 95% of people within the diamond industry are in it because it’s a male dominated family industry. It has been very hard to establish respect and rapport from other jewelers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
None that I can recall. I’ve had the good fortune of meeting the distributors that I now work with day in and out. That did not come without merit. I worked hard to achieve the relationships I have now.
