Life & Work with Krissi Greer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krissi Greer.

Hi Krissi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been interested in makeup and photography. I didn’t want to limit myself to one or the other, so I decided to do both! I didn’t become a professional with makeup until 2019 but from 2012-2020, I shot everything from Birth to Events. I didn’t start shooting Boudoir exclusively until COVID-19 hit. There’s just something about being depressed during a quarantine in the middle of a pandemic that makes people want to pull themselves out of it with self-care. What better way to find new love for yourself than with a Boudoir session?! I started posting TikToks in early 2020 and gained a huge following from a series I called “Makeup in the car!” When covid hit, everyone was on TikTok and it was the perfect time to branch out and start posting about Boudoir. By November 2020, I had built up my “Boudie” clientele and bought a studio in Downtown McKinney! It’s definitely been a wild ride, but I have no doubt that this is what I’m meant to do with my life – fighting for and helping EVERYONE see just how amazing and beautiful they are, without changing a damn thing!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Forgive me if I sound anything less than humble when I say this…There have been zero struggles along the way. You’d think that starting up a business in the middle of a pandemic would be my biggest struggle but honestly it’s been my saving grace. The amount of people who yearn for self-love and self-acceptance is incredibly overwhelming in the best way possible! I’m so so blessed that I get to be a part of so many amazing journeys! It’s literally the best “job” in the entire world!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Professional Makeup artist and a Boudoir Photographer!

It’s a double-sided business that also goes hand in hand. “Beauty and Boudie” as I like to say. Haha!

If you were to ask my clients what I’m known for, 99.9% of them would say “How real she is…” OR “The inclusivity and diversity of her clients.” If you follow me on TikTok, you’ll see real quick that I am super real and raw with my content. I love being able to make others comfortable and when I shoot, it’s like being at a friend’s house just hanging out. Well, throw some “hot yoga poses” in there maybe. (You better stretch before your session!)

As for what sets me apart…that’s where the “inclusivity” part comes in. It’s rare when a Boudoir Photographers main focus is on all body types and promoting boudoir for more than just women. Give me all of the people in all shapes, sizes and colors. I want everyone to win and be comfortable in their own skin.

I’m most proud of my clients. They come into a vulnerable environment, trusting me, a complete stranger, with such an intimate part of them and fully allow me to see through their walls and capture who they are and more importantly, SHOW THEM. Many many tears from pure, unadulterated joy, and dare I say relief, have hit the floors of my studio. Seeing a candid image of yourself from a random stranger VS a professional Boudoir Photographer whose souls intention is to show you YOU….it just hits different.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I wouldn’t exactly say that I’m a “risk-taker” but only because I believe if you truly have faith in what you’re doing and why you’re doing it…then you already know that the risk will be worth it in the end.
