Meet Ariana Gamboa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Gamboa.

Hi Ariana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Ever since I was in high school, I knew that someday I wanted to become an entrepreneur and help people in some way. Right after graduating high school, I went to community college to eventually get a nursing degree. Deep down, I knew that nursing was not what I wanted to do in life but I wanted to make my parents proud by going into the medical field.

Throughout community college, I was working at a bank which is where I had my first experience with marketing and sales. I then transferred to a University, so I could not work part-time since I was a full-time student. Even though I was not working a 9-5 job, I began to work on side hustles to generate income. I started off as a freelance makeup artist and then I bought my first Cricut machine and just started creating items with it to sell. I went to the University for about 2 semesters and was able to obtain a PRN job at a local hospital in Dallas. This is where I realized that nursing was not the career path for me.

My boyfriend at the time, Carlos, now my fiancé, was a big support system for me at that time in my life since he pushed me to follow my dreams of entrepreneurship. My fiancé is a contractor which is where the idea had sparked in my head about becoming a REALTOR®. I researched how to become a real estate agent and what it consisted of. I took my real estate courses online during the COVID-19 shutdown and I was able to pass my Real Estate Exam on the first try.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It did not start off smooth since I changed career paths in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic so everything had to be done online and there was a delay in being able to take my Real Estate Exam due to the shutdown. Before I joined JPAR Real Estate, I had interviewed many other brokers and all told me that I would not be successful in my first year of working in real estate since I was young and because I did not know the right people. I am glad I found JPAR since they made me feel excited about my new career.

When I first started real estate, I was still working full-time at a spine private practice. I was also still doing makeup freelance work and selling items I created with my cricut machine. Therefore, not all my focus was on my career. I quickly realized that if I didn’t put the time and effort in my business then there would be no return. I took the decision to quit my 9-5 job and focus 100% on finding clients and helping them buy and sell properties.

In addition, the transition from having a steady job to being self-employed can be overwhelming and stressful. As a REALTOR® I do not get paid unless the sale of the home closes. I try to stay positive and continue to work towards my goals since I know that sooner or later it will pay off when seeing a smile on my clients’ faces.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a REALTOR® brokered by JPAR Real Estate. I serve all of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I specialize in helping buyers find a home and helping homeowners sell their current home in order to relocate or simply continue to invest in Real Estate. I am proud to say that I am a first generation Mexican-American and I am bilingual. I like to help people who English is not their first language to make them feel understood and to help educate them about the process involved in Real Estate.

Homeownership is a component of the American dream so I do my best to help all my clients achieve this goal by providing excellent service, communication, and education.

My career in Real Estate has fulfilled my dream of entrepreneurship and to help people at the same time. I take pride and joy in helping families buy their first homes and to help them generate wealth for generations to come.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about Dallas is the diversity that it has. You can encounter a lot of different cultures and backgrounds which means great food. What I least like about Dallas is the traffic, especially I-635 and Downtown rush hour.
