Today we’d like to introduce you to Carll Edouard.
Hi Carll, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Carll Edouard, affectionately known as “Kaloulou” or “Little Carll” in my home island of Haiti, where I grew up in Gonaives, a city on the northern part of the island. As a kid, I was well known throughout the island nation for my love for sports, especially soccer.
My athleticism took me to the United States at age 17 where I would live for a short time in Miami. Few months after, my family and I moved to Dallas, Texas. Upon finishing High School, I went to Texas Tech University, where I served in the U.S. Army National Guard as an infantryman- wanting to give back to the country that provided me so much. Upon graduating from Texas Tech’s prestigious school of Arts and Sciences with a degree in kinesiology and French Literature in 2015 and finishing my tenure with the military, I would move back to Dallas.
Today, I’m a budding entrepreneur with interests and pursuits in professional and amateur sports training, develops high-end nutrition and fitness programs for elite clientele in the Dallas area, I have an established meal-prep line that I provide for my clients.
When I’m not working, I enjoy cooking, training, and volunteering for different causes, like passing meals at the homeless shelter in downtown Dallas, and set missions trip and events that benefit the children and citizens of my home country, Haiti.
My ultimate goal is to open a kid’s academy in Haiti to help children with proper training, more importantly, I want to provide them with an opportunity for free education!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been several challenges along the way. Growing up in a third-world country was a big challenge, from walking for miles to get some water to living in the dark for months at a time because of lack of electricity. The toughest part for me was adjusting to life without my mom at the age of 15 after she passed while giving birth. Things did not get better for my first few years in the states, because I had to adjust to the culture and try to learn English as fast as I could so I could get around and get things done.
As you know, we’re big fans of Creole Fitness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My company is Creole Fitness, my complete approach to health will help you feel as good as you look. Wherever you are on your journey, I customize a plan to you. Training solutions can range from in-person to virtual or group sessions. The think that set us apart is that, although our main focus group is kids, we conduct classes for the parents and provide them with the meals they should be eating. We take away any guesses from our clients.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m very thankful for the US and all the opportunities that it offers. With my company, I’m able to help with the homeless shelter here and help support many children in Haiti, and for that I’m grateful!
