Other notes: I am a domestic abuse survivor
I mentor under-privileged and trouble youth through performing arts with my business partner Dedra
Mosely through our organization called “Rizzing Starz!
I have been recently cast in my 1st Christmas Movie, which is a dream come true.
I was born in Nacogdoches, TX, the oldest town in Texas
I was a single mother of two LaToya and Kenneth
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I was married at a young age into an abusive relationship. I lost every piece of confidence I had; you see I was voted “Best All-Around” my senior year in high school (H. Grady Spruce). With the grace of God and family support, I was able to leave the relationship. However, it took me almost 7 years to regain the confidence that I allowed to be taken from me. Being a single mother was both challenging and rewarding, but it gave me the strength to do what I do today.
You have to have strong shoulders in the acting industry as it is 95% rejection. So, you have to be confident within yourself and believe in your craft.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In my everyday world, I work for one of the largest Real Estate companies in Texas. In my everyday passion world, I am an actress, mentor, business owner, board member, wife, mother, sister, and friend. I wear many hats and I am at my best when I am helping my fellow man. I am a firm believer that we are all put here to be used, just not ABUSED!
I have a talent, gift, craft, or whatever you want to call it (lol) of bringing stories to life very beautifully and believable.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck; I believe in Blessings! Everything is not for me, even if I want it bad. I believe the things or successes that I receive have been for me and no one else.
I love to see others win. I cheer for my peers!!!
