Today we’d like to introduce you to Kennedy Johnson.
Hi Kennedy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Makeup is something I’ve been interested in from young. As I got older, I became obsessed with it. I wanted my makeup to look as good as all of the beauty gurus I used to watch on YouTube. Me only being 17 at the time, I was confused on what I wanted to do. I ran track for many years and tried to focus on that but I always ran back to makeup. Nothing compared to the freedom I had when trying a new look. Although there were many trial and error’s, I finally built up the confidence to post one of my looks. I received so much great feedback. I started a social media page with the name MakeupByKlassyK. It was only up from there. My business and I have really grown in the past few years. Along with me doing makeup, I sell lashes, beauty bags, and a palette. I truly love what I do and couldn’t ask God for it to be any other way. All of this is how TheBeautyWhiz came to be.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My biggest challenge is putting myself out there and making a name for myself. It’s hard getting connected with the right people in Dallas.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a makeup artist. I specialize in everyday looks whether it’s for a wedding, party, events, photoshoots. I’ve been open to trying anything. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come. I’m 3 years in and my makeup looks are flawless. I am different from many other makeup artist. I did start at a young age and I’m at a level that I never thought I would be. I’m extremely grateful at this god-given talent.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
It put things into perspective for me. I learned a lot makeup wise and it also made me realize how important family is. Now those are the two most important things in my life.
