Hi Brittany and Anthony, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Romeros Coffee & Mini Donuts is our family-owned and operated small business. We both had our full-time careers but wanted more. We wanted to create and grow something that we could involve our children and families in. We started doing events in Ellis County and were overwhelmed with the amount of support and love we received. What started as a food trailer used for weekend pop-ups and local events in November 2020 has now turned into a brick-and-mortar location in the town we grew up in with craft coffee, hot mini donuts and a full team of employees.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been one bumpy road, but we are confident that we are right where we are meant to be! As first-generation small business owners, there has been a lot that we have had to learn along the way. We have never been in the food business and definitely didn’t know anything about being a mobile food vendor. There are so many rules and regulations that differ from city to city. We have found that some events outperform our expectations while others don’t turn out as successful as we thought they would be. We have had to adapt to many unexpected situations and have also learned to roll with the punches. The rough days make the good days even sweeter and we know that the best things in life take hard work and dedication!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We serve hot mini donuts that are little bites of Heaven! Our donuts are golden and crispy in the outside and light and fluffy on the inside! We have a variety of toppings to choose from and our donuts aren’t pre-topped like traditional donut shops. We stay open into the evening and love that our donuts can be enjoyed any time of day! We also have a full coffee menu available to pair with our one-of-a-kind donuts. We partner with Cultivar and serve their freshly roasted beans and we have a drink menu that highlights and proudly celebrates our Mexican culture. We want to make a positive impact in the community that we love!
