Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Frazier.
Hi Eric, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
At the age of 10, I started testing out my voice and recording with my older cousins who were already artists, and releasing music throughout the city. At that point, I figured out that I really wanted to rap, and take it serious so from then on until my early teens I was releasing music on Soundcloud. Due to the environment, I was in and the circle I had at the time I was introduced to the system at a young age which kept my focus away from being an artist. Back in 2015, I was confined to a cell for five years, and the whole time I was drawing, writing songs, ad planning out my future. Once I was released in August 2020, I made the decision that I would take my craft serious and focus on being an artist full time. Since being released I have over 35 songs & 500,000 streams throughout all platforms. My biggest songs right now is the “Intro ” to my latest EP called “Fraykenstein” with all 6 songs produced by @drumzandkeys. I plan on releasing an NFT album this year featuring all my art and more collabs with the best producers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest obstacles right now are maneuvering through the music industry and learning things work. I truly believe and know that I will be successful no matter what I am doing as an artist because I’m putting in the work right now.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I address myself as an artist, not a “rapper” because music is another art form for me that I take just as serious as I take my actual art. I’ve always been artistic and doing different things that I seen other people doing growing up. I love being able to put music out because it’s my life story and I know that other people have been through or going through the things I talk about in my music.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
If we’re speaking musically, I’d say versatility and I like to do things that make me stand out and that other people wouldn’t say. Speaking about life, what matters to me is keeping my sanity and being able to make money and take of my family just being who I am as an artist.
