Today we’d like to introduce you to Marisela Gutierrez-Meyer.
Hi Marisela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Our company began in mid-summer of 2020 when we discovered that our fur baby Daisy had developed an allergy to store brought treats. We began doing reachers and baking our own homemade treats. Daisy began to show improvement with our treats and this inspired us to help other animals by providing a better alternative to store brought treats.
We first started sending out samples to our friends and family to get their fur babies’ feedback on our treats. Once we felt we had developed a strong and reliable product, which now included our bakery line. We launched our online store and sold on social media to an expanding market. A year later we were invited to do our first pop-up shop. This opened the doors to a whole new clientele and set the stage for numerous pop-ups, dog shows, and networking ventures.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It defiantly has not been a smooth ride. When we started baking it was a lot of trial and error, we would under-bake and defiantly over-bake treats. LOL, we have had our fair share of tasting treats. Along the way we have spent more than we have gained at times because of not knowing how much product was going to be needed. There has been a consistent battle with packaging, which to this day is still ongoing. Products that were for sale were being eaten by our own fur baby.

Pawl’s K-9ery is a pet treat and bakery company that caters to all paws. We make all our products homemade and with love. I am a baker and a full-time student. I specialize in pet treats and baked goods for all pets, I am known for my SMILE, for helping others, and my customer service. Pawl’s is set apart from other treat companies because they take great pride and care for each and every one of our paw customers. I am most proud of all our treats, but the most popular treats are the Bacos, Puppa Butter, Flickers, the Tiny Cake and the Number Cake. I would love for people to know that all our treats are made fresh, we offer dog treats, cakes, doughnuts, and of course cat treats we can’t leave them out!
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I call it Faith! I have taken a big leap of Faith making Pawl’s my full-time job, not knowing if it will be a success. I feel that a person should take the risk and believe in their Faith in life because, if you don’t later in life you may regret not trying something you really wanted too. You will either learn from it and grow, maybe even fail but you will never know what the out come will be if you don’t try.
