Today we’d like to introduce you to Faron Rashelle.
Hi Faron, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I come from a musical family, so music is something that always just was. I grew up singing in church. My parents can sing they both play keys. My brother plays the drums and my aunts and uncles can sing as well. The first time I sang outside of church was at the Miss Black and Gold Pageant at The University of Central Arkansas. I won best talent! That encouraged me to keep going. A few years later, our childhood friend Trey asked my brother GeMarr if he had a band because an opening act was needed for a local show. GeMarr knew I wanted to sing and he told Trey “Yes” even though we didn’t have a band…yet. After that call, the band The Kosher Sound was created and we’ve been performing together since. As far as original music, my friend KG is the one that opened that door for me. One day I posted an Instagram video of me singing and playing the guitar. KG reached out about it and suggested linking to record an original song that he’d produce. I was down! That eventually led to the release of my first single, “Unworthy” and I’ve been blessed to learn, grow, and create ever since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has had a few bumps here and there but overall, I’ve been blessed. I’ve gotten to connect with so many dope individuals that actually want to be a part of the journey. That means and says a lot to me. As far as struggles, I’d say covid was something that caused things to slow down. But I turned it into a positive and accepted it as a sign to focus strictly on completing my first album which will be released super soon.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am Faron Rashelle and I am a singer, a songwriter, an artist. I love to write and create a vibe, a safe space where people can focus on how they feel. I am most proud of the fact that I’ve gotten to actually chase my dreams with my brother, GeMarr aka Drummerboi3K. I knew I wanted to be a singer when I was a child and he has played drums almost since birth. The fact that we’ve been performing together on stage and now both producing the majority of my original songs blows my mind. That’s so dope to me. We saw it from the start and now we’re living it. I think what sets me apart is something God-given. It’s hard to explain but it’s something you can feel. You’ll never please everyone but those that reach out and say they were vibing to a song or express how a song was there with them through a situation remind me that music isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s my purpose.
What’s next?
I’m looking forward to dropping my first album. One big change with this project was that I recorded all of the vocals myself for the first time. So, I’m nervous about that but it is what it is! Aside from that, more originals, more visuals, more shows, more vibes.
