Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Howard-Mathis.
Hi Brittany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
LeQueenBrittany Boutique started as a hair business to give women a newfound love for themselves through their hair. I’ve been doing hair since I was about 11. My sister and I always took turns on trying different styles on each other’s hair because my mom worked full time as a single mother. It’s always been my sister, baby brother, and myself growing up, so we leaned on each other for guidance while my mom taught us the strength. I’ve always believed in beauty and decided to create my own brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe that nothing in life is smooth sailing. I’ve faced criticism of my work. Which in return, I appreciate because it helps me grow. The inflation and COVID-19 have played a challenging role within my business as well. However, without obstacles, I don’t believe I would be as successful as I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in rebranding personal perspectives. What do I mean? I like to take a person’s ideal image to the next level through my talented hands. I work with all types of hair. Something I’m most proud of is giving women who suffer from Alopecia a newfound image. I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to feel beautiful. I specialize in braids, natural protective styles, and beauty enhancing. What sets me aside from others is the experience. My clients are family, they are not just customers. I want them to come back and receive a better experience each time.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Within the next 5-10 years, I see elevation within LeQueenBrittany Boutique. I manifest a storefront here in Texas within the next 5 years and after that, I will open business back home in ATL.
