Meet Stephanie Childers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Childers.

Hi Stephanie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hairdressing is actually my second career. I enrolled in cosmetology school at 33. I worked in corporate America for many years and when covid hit I took a hard look at my life. For years I wanted to be a hairstylist but I stuck to the “norm” and worked my hardest to climb the corporate latter. During covid, like many other people out there I had time to really reflect on my life and how I want to spend it. So, I enrolled in Paul Mitchell the School Dallas and never looked back. I enjoy my days at the salon making my clients feel beautiful and making genuine connections with wonderful people.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been easy, in fact, if you would have asked me 5 years ago where I’d be. I wouldn’t have said hairdresser. I’m literally living my dream! I’ve had to pinch myself several times because I still can’t believe it! Balancing being a parent, working, and going to school was difficult but it was worth it! Also, gaining my education during a pandemic was also a struggle but very eye-opening!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a hair artist located in downtown Rockwall Texas just east of Dallas. I am most proud of my ability to make clients feel like they are safe and at home when in my chair. I feel like my many years of corporate leadership as allowed me to polish my people skills so being able to have conversations that are enriching with my clients definitely sets me apart. I also take pride in being very transparent with my clients which I know they appreciate. I specialize in color, color corrections, blonding, and haircare for the whole family.

Any big plans?
I am looking forward to continuing building my clientele and meeting new faces. Doing lots of gorgeous hair and making women feel their absolute best. Eventually, I’d like to open my own salon in the Dallas area.
