Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2007 my dad had a dream to bring his passion of fresh fish to life, in the city he lived in! Being 16 at the time I jumped at the idea of a job and went right to work. I’ve since worked every position in the restaurant all the way up being proudly able to say I no longer work for my dad but work with my dad side by side.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Working with family can definitely have its challenges at times, the biggest being knowing how to turn off work mode/talk when we have family time.
It’s also the restaurant industry so there different challenges every single day. we also preach to “expect the unexpected”
As you know, we’re big fans of Sea Breeze Fish Market and Grill. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Family-owned and operated for 15 years, serving the freshest best seafood in DFW. we offer a full-service fish market where everything is brought in fresh and filleted on site. our menu changes every other week depending on what’s in season, freshest, and available. full-service bar with creative cocktails and fun wine list.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
don’t get ahead of yourself, it’s easy to want to everything all at once. but make a plan, stick to what you know and execute it. also don’t ever be afraid to ask for help.
