Inspiring Conversations with Aileen Pesante of Nxtgen Tax & Financial Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aileen Pesante.

Hi Aileen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
A part of my journey began when life hit me with a curveball, and from one moment to the next, I became a single mother. I never felt so unprepared in life, and on the other hand, I never felt the amount of motivation I did at that moment to get a handle of my situation…, especially my financial situation. I grew up not knowing very much about financial literacy, but at that point in life, I had to immediately figure out how I was going to take care of my daughter and myself. I knew I needed to create multiple streams of income. I began researching and applying everything I learned to my situation. I noticed myself giving out the knowledge that was helping me to anyone who would listen. That’s where my journey leads me to start my first business. It was important for me to start a business because I knew I couldn’t pass down my job to my daughter. Becoming an owner of a financial services business was not easy, so I’ve made it my goal to help others step over the hoops I had to jump through. It’s important to me to help people who have not been taught financial literacy because I believe that we are the next generational wealth builders. By educating ourselves on all aspects of financial literacy, we can begin implementing strategies to help ourselves, and our children build a strong financial household. So, today I’m helping people who want help themselves change the narrative in their lives.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all, but no business that starts from the ground up is an easy task. In the beginning, you have to put in a lot of work to build your foundation. I did a lot of work for free in the beginning, but when it comes to business, free is too expensive at times. Building a business, working a full-time job, and balancing a family is tough, but when you are on a mission to change the trajectory of your life, it is all worth the struggles that come along the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I own a tax preparation and financial services business that is geared towards helping entrepreneurs and small businesses get a handle of their taxes, as well, as become educated about how to implement tax strategies the will help them keep more of the money the work hard to earn.

What separates me is that I provide a personal experience to my clients. I was once in their shoes, so I understand how scary taxes and finances can be. Whether they are just starting their business journey, or if they’ve been in business for years. It’s important for me that my clients feel understood. The tax code is available to all of us.

Nxtgen Tax & Financial Services LLC offers tax preparation, business structuring, payroll, and additional financial services.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
Rich Dad Poor Dad changed my life. The Alchemist has helped me throughout my journey. Earn Your Leisure University is an amazing podcast with tons of financial literacy education. God is the biggest app (the bible) that has helped me through the many victories and struggles I’ve face.
