Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaela Dorsey.
Kaela, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It started when my friends on high school wanted to experiment with different vivid hair colors and different hair colors. I never thought of hair as a career until I decided that I no longer wanted to go to college. I always thought of it as something fun and I still do! I love that I do something that I enjoy.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Every career has its obstacles. Mine in particular is overworking myself. I’m so eager to do hair that I have a hard time telling people no. It’s super important to take care of yourself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hairstylist located in Frisco, TX. I love all things hair related but I specialize in Lived-in color and Vivids! I’m most proud of my consultation process. It is important to me that I give provide a detailed consultation service so both the client and I understand the expectations and the process to get them to their hair goal. It is important that your client feels comfortable with you and trusts you as a stylist. A lot of times this process is skimmed over and with no expectation or explanation this can set up the possibility of having a client leave upset. That’s what I think separates me from others.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories is traveling to Colorado and hiking through the mountains.
