Hidden Gems: Meet Aishia Cobb of Shi’s Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aishia Cobb.

Hi Aishia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My name is Aishia Cobb but I go by Shi. I am the Chief Executive Officer at Shi’s Consulting. I am an Illinois native raised between Illinois and Wisconsin. I am a birth mommy of 2 amazing teenagers and a bonus mommy to 1. My love for business and coaching is like no other. I am not in the business of taking people’s money, I’m in the business of helping individuals thrive. I worked as a business banker and business loan underwriter in a bank for a little over 10 years. I registered my business on paper in 2017 but did absolutely nothing with it. In 2019 I started operating in my gift of business after seeing the demand for proper business plans in minority businesses. I did so well that I became a competitor for the financial institution I was working at. Long story short, they fired me! It may sound crazy but I’m SO THANKFUL they did. It allowed me to release the entrepreneurial beast that was down on the inside of me.

Working as a loan underwriter taught me that it’s impossible for minorities to get approved for funding if they lack the necessary tools needed as a new business. So, I developed and created a business mentorship program that would ENSURE success in business. I give you the blueprint, hold you accountable and you apply it.

My company is designed for people overcoming homelessness because I’ve been there, single parents because I am one, and those who have several ideas but can’t decipher how to generate wealth off it. My ultimate goal in life is to help individuals who are dealing with the cards they’ve been dealt thrive.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My greatest obstacle was homelessness. Being homeless left me feeling hopeless. Feeling like there was no one in life that could help me and it felt almost impossible to get out of that situation.

I’ve faced many challenges but my toughest one has been deciphering who to keep in my life and who to remove. I’ve learned that on this journey called life everyone is not meant to go to the next level with you.

Another major challenge was losing my parents. Death is hard to overcome but through therapy and prayer, I’ve been able to overcome the challenge of grief and progress forward.

As you know, we’re big fans of Shi’s Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Shi’s Consulting is a luxury Business Consulting Firm dedicated to helping minority men and women reach six and seven figures. We do this through business plan writing, business consulting, business course building and business mentorship.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love prayer and faith based events, shopping, traveling, meeting new people, fine wines, upscale restaurants and recently have learned I love CrossFit.

I dislike needy people, gossip, and work that does not reap a reward, and people that don’t invest in themselves.
