Hi Esme, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am young, Latina woman who likes any other young woman in her twenties had trouble finding themselves and the career they wanted for the rest of their lives. I attended Stephen F Austin state university in which I studied early education. After having my own child, I learned that a classroom job was not something for me. I had always had a passion for event planning without knowing it. I was always the first in line to help plan family and friend events not to mention I have always held the best parties in town. I began my career at a corporate company planning company meetings and events. At the start of covid in 2020, I took the biggest risk and took a leave from my day job to work at home building my brand. I used my corporate event planning knowledge and quickly build myself up. I fell in love. Since then, I’ve had no trouble finding clients with the old word-of-mouth marketing method. As I grow, I’ve grown my company too hiring marketing specialists and website developers, attending expos, and becoming a preferred vendor for top venues in the DFW.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It is never a smooth road when it comes to building a business. I’ve had to learn how to manage all sorts of clients and venue managers. I’ve had to invest in myself and my company sometimes not seeing pay in months but it has always been worth it and worth the success I have now.
As you know, we’re big fans of Events by Esme. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business offers event planning. I am a wedding and event planner who works individually with each client to ensure they get exactly what they want. I focus on multicultural weddings; I have experience with many cultures and religious weddings
