Meet Diana Angel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Angel.

Diana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I like to think that I have always had a knack for creating tasty things, but this idea came from the need for a bit of relief for my husband and his co-workers, who were working grueling days outside in the summer heat. They are commercial HVAC technicians, so in this extreme heat, I wanted to come up with ideas of how to try and help keep them cool. It started there, but quickly trickled into other areas of my life. I have a day job that I’ve had for quite a long time and started bringing them to work with me. With experience in creating things in the kitchen and running a busy household, I expected a good response, but their responses blew me away and made me believe that this dream could turn into reality.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Overall, I suppose it has been relatively smooth. I didn’t expect the growth we’ve had. I was just happy selling to a small group of people consistently. Once the orders started getting more extensive and more kept coming in, with quality and freshness essential to me, I will admit that I struggled initially to adjust. Still, I was able to regroup and adapt my organization and time. It has been smooth sailing since.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
When I’m not making sweet treats for the Angel Cart, I am working as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician for a practice with three great doctors.  Typically, I work mainly with patients, helping solve vision issues, and scribing, but I’m most proud of the opportunity to assist as a scrub technician while the doctors perform cataract surgery.

There is nothing better to me than seeing a patient who has been struggling to see regain their vision.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far, and I’m sure I will continue to learn more as I grow in this journey, is to be ready for anything. I can’t say that I always was as prepared for the growth I saw. There were days when I didn’t expect larger orders and didn’t have enough supplies on hand. It took a lot of planning and organization to get it all on track.
