Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrystyan Cross.
Hi Chrystyan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
After being suspended from my job due to my Stage III Endometriosis in February, I came up with the concept of ThaMonthly Blogcast. I didn’t see a platform that I (a Black Woman with a reproductive condition) could relate to that addressed the unjust societal stigmas that come with women & reproductive issues in general.
I spent February-April doing extensive research on reproductive conditions also speaking with women from all walks of life.
I teamed up with Kenneth ‘Kenny Smith’ Porter, owner of DallasWallStreet Media, to bring my audio/visual concept to life!
We just recently filmed Ep. III entitled “Ouuuu, Baby!” July 23rd & I’m currently working on Ep. IV premiering in August.
My intention is to educate (while educating self) & advocate for ALL WOMEN.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Biggest challenge at this time has been distance. I currently reside in Oklahoma City, & my work schedule doesn’t permit for me to come home multiple times a month to film more episodes.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently an International Travel Agent for Costco Wholesale (yes, the big store lol). Ideally, I’d be in someone’s dental office doing a root canal or braces, but life has a funny way of switching up.
I’d say I’m most proud of the fact that I pulled up by my bootstrings & reinvented self after a tumultuous & violent marriage. (2017)
What sets me apart from the masses is that I truly am zero tolerant. I don’t have much stamina for frivolous or negative things that other people seem to dwell–or drown in.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was the loud, outspoken & funny one. The musically inclined nerd. I unequivocally loved music & books (thank you, Mama LOL). To this day, I’m still enthralled by all of these interests & attributes.
