Meet Kaci Bell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaci Bell.

Hi Kaci, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I got started in real estate after spending time with my partner and her new real estate pals from work. I got to meet everyone on her team and watched how they collaborated and worked together, their work ethics and what it was like being a 1099 contractor making their own choices. Not to mention, the more time I spent with them, the more I was able to see the other side of real estate: the money! It looked like a blast, and I wanted to be a part! I signed up for real estate school to get my license, and I failed my exam twice by only 1 -2 points! I was so devastated that I almost gave up and said F* real estate! Lol! But they always say, ‘third time’s the charm,’ so I stuck at it once more, passed my exams, and began shopping for a brokerage to call home. I originally started out working for my dad’s brokerage, Exit Sunrise Realty in El Paso. To be completely honest, I got bored in El Paso, so I made the move back here to Dallas to exercise my real estate skills!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth! When I first started in real estate, I was coming from a “full-time employee” job with that mindset. It took me a little while in the beginning to create that self-motivation to maintain my real estate business since I was no longer getting a paycheck bi-monthly. I struggled to make ends meet for the first couple of months because I had no idea what I was doing, I had no clientele base, and the whole “use your friends and family as a circle of excellence” thing wasn’t working for me because all the adults in my life already had fairly new homes, and no one my age was ready to purchase. So, I was SOL for a little while. Eventually, I had to learn to get out of my comfort zone and talk to people, anywhere and anytime, and try to fit in a shameless plug that ‘I sell homes’.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a part-time realtor and full-time Fundraising Support Specialist for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society! For real estate, I specialize in locating apartments/condos/houses in the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex. I work with local clients and those looking to relocate to DFW. I have ultimately learned the ropes of real estate and been able to apply those teachings to everyday scenarios, work-related or in my personal life. I’ve learned so much about real estate in my 20s, and I’m particularly proud of that. What sets me apart from others is my eclecticism and overall creative way of seeing the big picture!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am an avid roller skater who lives with Multiple Sclerosis! (@myelinmoxi)
