Hi Amanda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Introduction: I have been in the beauty industry and an entrepreneur for over eighteen years. With several accomplishments, such as involvement as a lead makeup artist at New York Fashion Week and Miami Fashion Week, a national trainer for America’s leading beauty brands such as Ulta, and an Live TV beauty sales representative on HSN. I have used my experience and the beauty industry to build the Beauty Boss brand.
Mission: I’ve dedicated over two decades to inspiring women to do the things that inspire them with a rarely discussed perspective on the marriage of inner and outer beauty.
Timeline: I was the salon manager for COLOR Salon by Micheal Boychuck at Caesars Palace In Las Vegas. I developed my first product in 2007 with recognition from Shape Magazine as the “Try it” Product of the Year. I became a speaker at conferences with women and youth from 500- 2000 attendees. I worked with the United Nations to build a sustaining women’s project for the King of Venda in South Africa, speaking at conferences with over 3,000 attendees, I was the Lead Makeup Artist for New York and Miami Fashion Week for 5 Consecutive Years I was the Lead Makeup Artist for Sports Illustrated at Miami Swim Week and 9 out of 16 shows with a team of 30 artists I was a National Trainer for Temptu Airbrush Company, training trainers on how to teach students in Americas top Beauty Schools I owned the top-rated advanced skincare and permanent makeup academy out of nineteen categories in Ohio. I was the Brand Ambassador for The Vamp Stamp Selling Live On HSN, I am the Beauty Editor for Deluxe Version Magazine with International publications I am the Beauty Director for Genesis Lifestyle Medicine with over 10 National Locations. I have a podcast called Pays to Be Clean, showing people how living clean in love, lifestyle, and looks pays off. I offer services in medical tattooing, scar camouflage, areola restoration, scalp pigmentation, tattoo removal, permanent makeup, and advanced skincare tightening.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There was, and still is a lot to learn. With the successes has come an equal or greater number of “failures,” as some would consider it. Those have been incredible lessons to me as to what I want, need, and desire out of my life and career. In areas, I fall short with my mindset, knowledge, and business acumen, I hire business coaching, take courses, research and study.
Time was my first perceived obstacle. Although I had heard “things take time to grow,” I wanted it to manifest immediately. What I wanted at the beginning came after ten to fifteen years of growth. Money was my second perceived obstacle. I wanted to be doing things that the big brands did, but I had a small amount of money to do it. I used what I had to invest in projects, many of which didn’t work out. At that time, if I had more, I would have just lost more. I have a lot to learn about business, and I needed the small losses along the way to create clarity on where to invest my money to see multiply. Now I have a business that I thrive on, not just live on.

Beauty Boss: Amanda May Beauty is my personal beauty brand, and everything falls under that umbrella; however, I also hold positions with other companies. I offer permanent makeup, medical tattooing, scar camouflage, areola restoration, scalp pigmentation, and advanced skincare with a specialty in skin tightening. I offer mentorship and training for these services in our Las Vegas and Dallas locations.

At Genesis Lifestyle Medicine, we believe in healing from the inside out: giving your entire body what it needs to work properly so that you look and feel your absolute best from head to toe. I came on board with the company in early 2021 to support building the beauty aspect of the business within the facilities with that being completed in Las Vegas, Nashville, and now the Dallas area.
