Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittnee Thornton.
Hi Brittnee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Whew…. It’s a lot. (Haha!) But I’ll start here. I don’t have the ‘I was born and raised story.’ I don’t have deep roots anywhere. But that’s also what I consider to be a part of my success. I was born in New York City. I spent the second half of my childhood in Kentucky. With a lot of time in Georgia and Florida. I’ve also called several cities throughout Texas home. For about two years, Washington state was also home. Before my kids and I moved back to DFW. I guess you can say “I’ve bloomed where I was planted.” Which meant developing a level of resiliency at a young age – made adjusting and adapting to every level of change as an adult a bit more fluid.
Aside from my residence. While I was an undergraduate student (go Colonels!) I also worked full time, serving at-risk youth, and was involved in the court system. My work in Criminal Court Administration continued for over 17 years. After years of consideration and contemplation… I decided to pursue my Real Estate license in 2018. Without a doubt, that was the best decision I made for myself, my kids, and our future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. But I’m thankful for those times, too. I’ve been through many life-changing obstacles with my kids. I’ve changed careers. Moved across the country with only a few dollars and my mom’s prayers. I’ve also been homeless and bankrupt. Meanwhile, I have a Masters’s degree. And was working several jobs at once. One of which was my full-time work in Criminal Court Administration. The “funny” thing was … A part of my job was to help families experiencing homelessness and other child welfare concerns. I helped them with resources and getting their life back on track. While mine, what felt like – was falling apart. Today, those are all still vivid memories. They built, shaped, and molded the woman I am today. Thankful is an understatement for God’s covering over my life. And for the path he’s etched out in the world for me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m a Realtor® and the Owner/Founder of OneEleven Property Group. We are a team of Real Estate Professionals serving the entire state of Texas. I’m also the owner of 180* Business Transformation Firm. Serving business owners’ needs for professional and business development.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Simply put… My mom, my sister, and my kids… they’re my cheerleaders and my kids are my rock.
