Today we’d like to introduce you to Bria Williams.
Hi Bria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My story began relatively recently. Photography is actually my last frontier in my art journey. I started late 2017 early 2018. I had always been an art student, but photography was new ground. I was in the midst of transferring schools and decided that I wanted the same camera my friend had and the rest is history.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t say it’s been dramatically bumpy either. Art is an expensive field no matter what media you pick up. I have been managing my skill set based on my budget. Some days it’s mentally draining because of the “if only” statements I make whenever I need something I don’t have. It’s a slow, but steady pace with my career.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in creative portrait photography and landscape. Anything that allows me to capture the human emotions in an unorthodox way, I’m all over it. This ties back into the “if only” statement. I don’t have much to work with currently, but I do invest in myself whenever I get the chance. I’ve been working on my landscape and night photography as well, but nothing makes me happier than portrait.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’d just love to share with the viewers that supporting small artist does more for the community than you’ll ever know. We forget how many other people offer such amazing individual skill sets with amazing stories daily. Don’t let so many mainstream things overshadow those in your neighborhood and close to you. There are so many things you can do to help them out that are free.
