Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Lucero.
Hi Natalia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
How I got started and got to where I am today is all because of my family. My sister, Elizabeth, who gave me my first starter clay kit, and my husband Gerardo, who has been there since day one, as well as all my supporting friends.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road I had to deal with inflation. Sometimes I go weeks without a sale, but that doesn’t keep me down. I like to keep positive and keep improving my business strategies to keep my momentum going.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a one-person operating machine, I do it all. I have been running and growing my business with the support of my number one life partner, Gerardo. I have been doing all the photography, marketing, packaging, finances, and much more. To be honest I love and have fun doing all these things. I love seeing my small business grow. Come January I will have been doing this for a year and wouldn’t want it any other way. I have accomplished so much I am so proud of myself, family and supportive friends.
I handcraft beautiful unique lightweight polymer clay earrings and accessories. I think I am pretty different from other businesses because I have a variety of earrings and accessories for anyone. I do not just stick to one kind of design or color. I like to think I have a little of everything for anyone.
I am very proud of my logo because my cousin Azu Torrez created my logo for my business. She’s a well-known graphic designer who is geat at what she does.
I do want to let everyone know that I also handcraft custom orders so if you ever have an event you want to gift beautiful local jewelry, I’m your girl. I am also available for wholesale.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I recommend getting involved in Near Southside Inc they have helped me a ton with networking and getting connected with some great people I would consider my mentors.
