Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Mayfield.
Hi Brittney, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Brittney. I am a mother to two beautiful children. A daughter name Zah’Varyieh & a son name Messieh whom I adore oh so much. Everything I do is for them. I am also married to the most caring, handsome, humbled man God could ever give to me. I call myself the “JACK OF ALL TRADES” I started doing my very own hair back in 2001. I began to love doing my hair and anybody else I could practice on. I also began to do pedicures on family members sometime after that, which I was in love to do. Sometime after graduating high school in 2007, in 2009 I enrolled myself Into hair school. I went to Milan institute of cosmetology where I went to peruse what I thought would be my “dream”. Went to school dedicated and all. Once it was time for me to finish, I became uninterested in my career with being a hairstylist. Years past me up became a mom to my daughter in 2011, and I begin to hustle hard again. I started doing eyebrow waxing, cluster lashes, and hair all over again. Slowly doing that I went into getting certified as a lash extension technician. I’ve been doing that on and off. I then began to own my own brand name “BEEYOUTIFUL GIRLS.” Got a little bored and started crafting crocs. Orders went crazy, and then bought my second brand name, “BEEdazzled.” I’ve been on go ever since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My road to success had always been on and off because I wouldn’t give my all into it. I was worried about taken care of my daughter whom I had been a single mom trying to make ends meet for us. If anything, I could never go as hard as I wanted to being that she dealt with numerous health issues as a premature baby, it was hard as a mom but I hustle as much as I could.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do hair such as weave, sewns, box braids, silk presses, color, ponytails, etc. on the other side of hair, I BEEdazzled shoes such as crocs and any other shoes I could and wanted to do. I am proud of everything I do. What sets me apart from others is that I’m talented, creative, unique, & consistent.
