Meet Nat Chittamai of Nat Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nat Chittamai.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nat. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I bought my first camera in 2009, right after I was graduated from college. I did not have any idea or goal for photography at that time. It was just a fun hobby. Three years after that, my parents sent me to Texas to get higher education at Tarleton State University. That was when I realized that photography is my passion.

Photography became a ticket to get to know people for me. I photographed many friends and events in school, and that was how I make friends. I started to photographed all kind of free session for people such as, senior, graduation, engagement, family sessions. Those sessions became my portfolio for my business. I believe the more you give, the more you get. As a result, my photography business started from that point.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I didn’t feel that I have struggled with photography business until it became the only source of income for me. I have learned that being a good photographer doesn’t mean your photography business will survive. There are many great photographers in DFW. They are also willing to offer a better price and package to your clients. I’ve learned that I need to build connection, do collaborations, and provide great customer services to everyone. I believe those are the keys to keep your business going.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Nat Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a wedding photographer in DFW area. I also photograph lifestyle, family, and portrait sessions. Most of my clients know me from the unposing style.

I also keep my business very simple and transparent for pricing. Clients will see what they will get for the price even before they meet up with me. I have only two wedding packages with competitive price. In short, easy and simple are what set me apart from others.

I’m very proud of my 78 five stars reviews. haha. I believe I did a good job on this!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe luck has a role when I get to know people who are actually looking for a photographer. Referring system and connection play a significant role in my career. Most of my clients are friends, classmate, or family. They pick me from a hundred of photographer out there. I’m a lucky one!
