Today we’d like to introduce you to Moeza Kamran.

Moeza Kamran

Hi Moeza, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, I’m Moeza, the proud owner of Kashmiri Chai House. In my heartfelt journey with Kashmiri Chai House, my vision extends beyond mere business – it’s a mission to weave South Asian flavors into the fabric of people’s lives, infused with modern creativity. Witnessing the joy of individuals coming together over our chai, savory appetizers, and delectable desserts brings me immense happiness. This venture began with a simple gift from my mom – Kashmiri Chai leaves for my kids’ birthday party. The overwhelming response led to the birth of Kashmiri Chai House in November 2022. From fulfilling orders for friends to expanding into events, weddings, and more, our offerings have grown to include savory finger foods and dessert shooters. As your go-to destination for authentic chai and delightful treats, we’re dedicated to making your events exceptional with our flavors. This unexpected journey from stay-at-home mom to an entrepreneur in the event planning industry has been a remarkable experience, and I am forever grateful for the chance to bring the warmth of Kashmiri Chai House into your homes and hearts. Thank you for being a cherished part of our flavorful journey!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our journey to this point has been adorned with challenges, each obstacle serving to fortify our resolve and resilience. Embarking on the adventure of event planning with no prior experience was a daunting prospect, yet countless late nights were joyfully dedicated to crafting meticulous business plans, securing essential funding, and curating captivating content and menus with the finest ingredients. It brings us immense pride to share that our growth has been entirely organic, fueled solely by word of mouth, without any additional expenses for advertising or marketing. This labor of love wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of my husband and kids, who have graciously understood and embraced my passion and creative outlook. Their contributions have been invaluable, making this journey not just a business venture but a harmonious blend of dedication and familial understanding.

We’ve been impressed with Kashmiri Chai House, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Kashmiri Chai House, we proudly stand out as a culinary gem where every dish is a vibrant celebration of South Asian flavors. Our unwavering commitment is a harmonious blend of culture, boundless creativity, and an unwavering passion for food, all carefully woven together to create a truly exceptional experience tailored exclusively for you. We transform beloved South Asian classics, such as Ras Malai, into the indulgent Ras Malai Tres Leches. If you’re a Mango Lassi enthusiast, prepare to be captivated by our enchanting Mango Mousse. For those with a craving for something unique, immerse yourself in our distinctive Kashmiri Boba Tea, an artful infusion of boba pearls garnished with pistachios and almonds. Our goal is to introduce delightful twists, infusing the rich essence of our South Asian heritage into every offering on our catering menu. The resulting fusion of flavors is meticulously crafted to be a universal source of culinary delight, cherished by all who indulge in the unique experience we bring to the table.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
One cherished childhood memory that holds a special place in my heart revolves around those snowy days in New York. Gathered with my family, we would savor the warmth of Kashmiri chai, a winter tradition lovingly prepared by my mom, accompanied by the delightful bakarkhani biscuits. Amidst the hustle of five siblings juggling full-time studies and work during our college days, our sanctuary became the evenings when we could unwind and detox together. My mom’s incredible cooking and chai became the centerpiece, bringing us all together each night. Laughter, sometimes to the point of tears over the simplest things, coexisted with heartfelt conversations about our parents’ sacrifices for a better future. As immigrants from Pakistan, family became paramount for us in a land where we had no extended family. I’m grateful my parents instilled the value of family time, and to this day, we continue to find solace in each other’s company. Chai, in fact, has been the thread weaving our family closer over the years. It symbolizes not just a beverage but peace and tranquility in a cup, fostering bonds that endure through time.
