Rising Stars: Meet Lili Byrne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lili Byrne.

Lili Byrne

Hi Lili, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Lili Byrne; I am a global yoga sculpt instructor, bioengineer, and designer, and an ambassador of fitness and the outdoors. My journey has taken me from the cutting edge of health technology to 15 countries around the world last year to the yoga mat where I teach and connect.

These experiences are what have lead me to put my heart and soul into the creation of Movement Calling.

I see the extraordinary capabilities of our bodies and recognize physical fitness as a celebration of our most ancient— and fundamental— human needs. It’s this that drives my mission to change perceptions of working out from a burden to something irresistible!

Looking back, I have been both unfit and uncomfortable, and I have been athletic and strong. Through my best phases, my routine of movement was my foundation, profoundly impacting my energy, mood, focus, and mental clarity. I know that mindset matters more than any specific programs or resources. The best routine is the one you stick to – the one that resonates with you. There is a physical movement that your body is craving. And that when you fall in love with your movement calling, you will never workout a day in your life!

My experiences, both as a mentor and a friend, have illuminated the primary barriers many face: limited self-belief and a lack of community support. Movement Calling is my response to these challenges, a platform that underscores the power of physical activity for self-awareness, personal growth, and fostering community ties.

Today, I advocate for body positivity and share my mindset on creating sustainable health routines amidst our bustling lives. I believe in the potential for a long, healthy, and fit life for everyone. By embracing the truth that there is a form of physical movement your body craves, you can transform your relationship with exercise.

As for where I am heading, my vision for Movement Calling is to establish it as a two-way beacon for those seeking a balanced, healthy, and fulfilling lifestyle. I aim to continue inspiring and equipping others to realize their potential and find their own Movement Calling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey in fitness, like many, began with its own set of challenges. I remember being a beginner, feeling the disconnect between the promised joys of fitness and the reality of those early struggles. You often hear about the ‘runner’s high’ or the yoga ‘glow’, but when you’re starting out, it’s a different story. Everything hurts; you feel awkward and painfully visible. This initial phase, where you’re laying the groundwork, is undeniably tough.

The truth is that maintenance in fitness is the easier part; it’s getting established that’s hard. It breaks my heart to see so many get trapped in a cycle of starting and stopping, perpetually stuck in the most difficult part of the journey.

I was there myself. In those early days, the key for me was to set a sustainable pace, one that I could commit to for the next decade, not just the next month. Shifting the mindset from a short sprint to a long marathon helps in building endurance and establishing a routine that becomes second nature over time. This approach is crucial to prevent burnout and ensure consistency.

Another deeply personal struggle was overcoming my own doubts and fears as I stepped up as a leader in my community. There were moments filled with uncertainty, where I questioned my place in this vast, often noisy world of fitness and wellness. Could my voice make a difference? Was my message resonating? Navigating through these moments required immense self-reflection and an unwavering belief in my mission. It was a journey of finding my voice and learning to trust it, a journey that has been as rewarding as it has been challenging.

Both these aspects of my journey – the physical challenge of establishing a fitness routine and the mental challenge of finding my voice as a leader – have been integral to my growth and the evolution of Movement Calling. They remind me, and hopefully, others, that persistence and belief in oneself are powerful tools on any journey of transformation.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At the core of my work with Movement Calling is a mission to help people discover their personal Movement Calling, a journey that is as much about inner discovery as it is about physical fitness. My approach is deeply rooted in empathy and backed by scientific principles, ensuring that each workout is not just effective but also meaningful.

I specialize in creating purpose-driven workout sequences that offer a balanced and comprehensive fitness experience. Each session is designed to be more than just a workout; it’s a ‘work-in’ where physical exercise intertwines with personal growth. I weave in meaningful intentions to each routine, encouraging a journey of self-exploration and emotional wellness.

What really sets my classes apart is the energy. I curate hype playlists that elevate endorphin levels to new heights, creating an exhilarating atmosphere that’s both motivational and joyous. This approach fosters a unique bond among participants, leaving them with a lasting smile and a sense of deep connection, not just to the practice but to each other.

Apart from my work as an instructor and mentor, I am also a full-time nomad, a lifestyle that allows me to bring a unique perspective to Movement Calling. Over the last year, I’ve traveled to 15 countries, sharing my movement lifestyle with a global audience. This journey showcases the adaptability and versatility of fitness; whether it’s mid-day swims in Croatia, hiking in Italy, or embracing the gym culture in Dubai, I demonstrate how fitness seamlessly integrates into various cultures and environments.

What I’m most proud of is not just the workouts or the travel experiences themselves but the ability to inspire others to see the beauty in our world and the endless possibilities for adventure and personal growth. The way I blend travel, fitness, and a deep understanding of wellness is what truly sets me apart. It’s about showing that fitness is not just a routine; it’s a lifestyle that can be as diverse and dynamic as the world we live in.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Nope! Thank you for these really thoughtful and engaging questions. I had a lot of fun reflecting deeply and sharing my story with your audience!
