Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Carpenter.
Hi Anthony, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, where I spent a wonderful childhood. Grew up with the typical inner city struggle just as the next family. I’ve had a passion for music since I knew how to bop my head, lol but you know what I mean. So, once I got to middle school (O.W. Holmes) around 96-97, that’s when No Limit Records hit the scene and impacted the world with New Orleans cultural gritty street stories. But even as a teen, I was more intrigued by what Percy Miller (Master P) had accomplished in the South. As far as an Independent Label, it was unheard of at that magnitude. So that’s what I set out to do in my city. Now I’m CEO of B4M Records alongside with my business partner Melvin Hicks (Fetti Bagz). I’ve performed in Dallas, Fort Worth, Oklahoma, Killeen, and Hurst, Tx. My plan is to continue following his blueprint. I’m very grateful to be from a city where so many greats come from such as Johnny Taylor (RIP), D.O.C Erika Badu the late great MO3 (RIP) Cordelia Griffin Go Hard Black Nemasis DSR Mr. Pookie Lucci Cotton Mouth and many more…
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a struggle for me in the beginning. Not having the financial support and resources. So that’s when I stopped focusing on the nonsupport and just kept pushing. I just don’t have the ability to quit or give up. I lost people to deaths, failing friendships, and relationships.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an all-around artist, meaning I can play just about anything as long as I’m feeling the beat. My style is very different, and I don’t sound like the average Dallas rapper. I wear many hats from. Graphic design to Consulting, Video/Audio editing, performer, Composer/Writer, Digital Marketing
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love my city’s people, the views from downtown are very Amazing, great culture, great food, family fun always. Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks. I just don’t understand why so much killing.
