Daily Inspiration: Meet Dan Glaser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Glaser.

Dan Glaser

Dan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my career working with local rescue groups and shelters and have studied and worked with some of the biggest names in the dog training world, including training and volunteering with The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan. I have been DFWs go-to dog trainer since 2001 and wouldn’t trade my life with anything else. I get to coach the best clients in DFW and I love training and boarding their dogs.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say the biggest challenges in my world is helping clients that have learned some bad habits and information from social media, their veterinarians, or friends. I can’t even count how many dogs I’ve worked with that have already gone through another ‘training” program.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In my over 20 years of working with dogs, I have finally come up with the best way to achieve the dog most folks want, a happy, well-behaved, calm, confident family member. l offer one on one, personal training. My training is simple, fun, and, most of all, successful. I don’t offer a boarding and training program simply because a strong relationship is not something that can simply be handed over to you. I will show you how to build your relationship with your dog. I will explain the reason we are doing things and coach you through it. It all comes down to your relationship with your dog, not my relationship with your dog. The time you spend working with your dog will provide you with a life-long bond that will result in the dog you’ve dreamed about.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
As a kid, there was always multiple dogs in our home. When my family moved to Texas the local kids warned me to avoid a house that was down the street from me. The kids informed me that Shadow, a “police dog that was very mean and super scary,” and if I needed to go that way, I should just walk on the other side of the street and never walk in front of their fence. A few days later, I was in that family’s front yard playing with Shadow for hours, which I continued to do a few times a week.

Needless to say, that experience not only chose my path in life forever, it also earned me some very important neighborhood street cred.
