Daily Inspiration: Meet Kacee Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kacee Anderson.

Kacee Anderson

Hi Kacee, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started dabbling in photography in 2012 when I got my first DSLR camera. I started learning mostly with online tutorials and hands-on practice on family and friends. I started mostly with family and children’s portraits. Over the years, I branched out into nearly every type of photography. I made the leap into doing photography full-time a couple years ago when it became too difficult to grow while working another full-time job. Recently, I’ve begun to focus more on my senior portrait experience, weddings, and other events.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the biggest challenge came when I realized I couldn’t continue to grow as a photographer and business owner while having another career. Transitioning into becoming a full-time self-employed business owner was a huge learning curve. There are so many elements to consider from understanding advertising and marketing, to figuring out your cost of doing business, to making sure you’re giving every client a positive experience from start to finish. Beyond that you have to be learning and growing in your art while creating technically sound photos.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I offer a wide variety of photography, but I specialize in senior portraits and couples’ photography. It’s really important to me that I do as much as I can to give them a fun, stress-free, and memorable experience. I have personalized guides for my seniors and couples to help them have the best experience possible. These include location recommendations, portfolio work, and other vendor recommendations. I keep these updated regularly and work to stay engaged with my clients and their needs. My guides have been a great way for my seniors and couples to learn more about me and envision themselves in the work I create.

I still love and enjoy all of my family sessions, as well. I see a lot of photographers that niche down so much that they burn themselves out doing the same thing over and over. I strive to tailor every session I do to my clients. I love the variety I get with every client and location.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I am incredibly thankful that I get to do what I do every single day. I don’t take it for granted. I appreciate every single person who trusts me to capture their biggest moments and everyday life.

Pricing:

  • Senior sessions start at $375+tax
