Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tamra Nicole.
Hi Tamra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’m Tamra Nicole, Fashion Stylist and owner of Tamra Nicole Styling Agency. I’ve been a Fashion Stylist for over 15 years and a Custom Clothier for over 7.
I started my career in fashion as an assistant to a Celebrity Stylist before going on to pursue my graduate studies at Parsons The New School for Design. I come from the world of luxury retail, and past employers include Barney’s New York, Bergdorf Goodman, House of Fraser, Neiman Marcus, Trunk Club, and Louis Vuitton.
After finding myself unemployed in early 2020, I decided to finally step out on faith and start my agency. My services include personal shopping, both in-person & virtually, custom clothing, closet edits, and public speaking. The majority of my clients are business professionals.
Whether that be executives or business owners, I also have corporate services where I teach employees how to dress in a post-Covid world & how to achieve that perfect Elevated Casual look for work and life. I also teach the youth the importance of proper attire for your first interview or job!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Lol, it has definitely not been a smooth road; my journey has been long and really hard at times. The biggest struggle was the growing process.
God literally had to stretch me in so many areas of my life so that I could be prepared for what I have now and where I’m growing. And that growth is not even close to being finished. God took me through all those things so that I could believe in myself, my ability, and the vision He gave me.
I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tamra Nicole Styling Agency?
Tamra Nicole Styling Agency is your one-stop shop for styling. I am a Fashion Stylist, Custom Clothier, and Style Coach. I am one of the few black female Custom Clothiers in Dallas and maybe even Texas. The custom clothing business is a male-dominated industry. I also style all body types for both men and women. I literally do it all.
I’m known for my caring, nurturing nature towards my clients. I’m a great listener and relatable. I see my clients as extensions of myself, like family. My goal is to push my clients out of their comfort zones but also encourage them to shine their light bright. The tagline of my company is “Through clothing, I help my client’s inner light shine bright!”
What sets me apart is that, again, I’m a one-stop shop. I can help my clients directly with their off-the-rack and custom clothing needs. I also take things a step further as we dive deep into my client’s mindset when it comes to getting dressed. We as people put ourselves in boxes when it comes to trying out style.
My goal is to break clients out of that box and to help them see themselves as I see them. So again, they can shine bright as they go out and conquer the world. There’s definitely some life coaching that’s intertwined with my styling services. I absolutely love what I do. I’m operating in my purpose on a daily basis and that is what makes me most proud. I get to help people look and feel amazing. It’s a true blessing.

Most people can do the really dressy or really casual look, but that middle ground that I like to call Elevated Casual is where they struggle the most. That is actually my expertise and superpower.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from growing up.
I have so many. It’s hard to just pick one! I would have to say the countless pool parties we had at my house growing up. I’m a summer baby, a Leo, to be exact, and Texas summers can be brutal. The answer to the heat is the pool!
I would be the first person in the pool and last person out, this still applies to this day! As a child I would have to almost be dragged out with water blisters on my feet before getting out. Not having easy access to a pool in NYC was one of the reasons that I knew I had to get back to Texas ASAP!
