Meet Jennifer Odikpo of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Odikpo

Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, I came from a Nigerian household where the core values consisted of strength, flexibility, and intelligence in every form. I triumphed through challenges of medical leave, family deaths, and bullying throughout my life, but my resilience and dedication to my God has never let me fall. I am now a 19 year old soft but sturdy college student on her way to a bright future filled with happiness and fulfillment.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I struggled with mental health, bullying, and the loss of my grandmother who I love wholeheartedly. Although these troubles only pushed me to become more loving and determinate towards my success.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently an intern at a hospice company along with a math tutor at a math center. I specialize in educating children to better engage their math comprehension. I also improve the lives of hospice patients and their families by creating legacy projects. I am most proud of contributing to my community. I believe what sets me apart is I am fully capable of doing the uncomfortable in certain situations because I believe someone has to do it, and I like being that person.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
They wouldn’t know that I am the oldest one in my family given how short I am!
