Hi Morgan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Discovering my passion for flowers was a bit of a late bloom for me. It wasn’t until I was 21 that I stumbled upon floral arranging as a hobby, and from the moment I picked up my first stem, I was hooked!
From there I got a job at 2 local flower shops, and I would occasionally freelance for other wedding florists in the area, and once I got the hang of it I started my business! I actually was directly inspired by my dogs (as corny as it is) to start my business! I have 2 golden retrievers named Lady and Peach which is why my business is named Golden Girl Floral Co 🙂
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not! I had no clue how to run a successful business. Luckily I had a business mentor who I met at a old coffee shop job! Her name is Elechia and she runs her own wedding bartending business named Red Label Bartending. She taught me everything about being a young and successful business owner.
After I learned the ropes about how to run my business I had to try and get my name out there, learn how to price things, etc! It hasn’t been easy, but it is so worth it!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the owner and creative director of Golden Girl Floral Co! We specialize in “flowering” weddings, large events, intimate gatherings, and more!
I would say Golden Girl Floral Co. is known for our attention to detail, our vibrant floral arrangements, and how we tailor each floral arrangement to the client! No one is the same, so why should your wedding florals be the same as everyone elses!
What sets us apart from other florists, is our unique floral selection! I use premium blooms that we outsource from all over the globe! Most of the bridal bouquets I make include a unique flower like a cool colored orchid or anthurium! Of course brides can opt out of it, but most of our clients come to us for our style and bloom selection!
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Sustainability Matters: Ask about eco-friendly options! Many florists (like myself) offer sustainable practices, such as using locally sourced flowers and eco-friendly mechanics!
