Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Marie
Hi Tierra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, I was a newly high school graduate who loved watching makeup tutorials and vlogs on YouTube! Once I went off to college my freshman year I decided I was gonna take the leap to start doing YouTube in 2016. I fell in love with the filming then editing process. I ended up leaving college and moving back home. I continued to do YouTube. After a few family things I had to stop. Few years later I started doing content on Instagram. I started doing more fashion content and reels. Then tik tok came out, at first I thought it was another app that wouldn’t last long. Once I saw the growth in it and everyone was moving to tik tok I decided to give it a try. It was just for fun honestly because I missed YouTube so much and it was short form so it made it easier. I started figuring out what content worked for me and I kept going and started becoming more consistent. Once I became consistent is when I started building my community and I still am!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a little bumpy! I say bumpy because you have to decide what things you are going to put into the world and what you aren’t. As well as family and friends not supporting you. Feeling like is this what I’m supposed to be doing? Worrying about what people think. Watching your analytics so much plays a part on your mental health.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Currently I am in school, I’m interested in the cybersecurity field. I’m excited to learn more about it and cyber attacks and hopefully this journey in my education can also be apart of my content creation journey!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I will say slow and steady wins the race! Just because you see a lot of people going viral does not mean they have longevity. Building a community is the most important thing, your community is going to support your content. When you start feeling like is this something I should be doing ask yourself do I enjoy it and does it make me happy? Those moments you want to quit because your aren’t where you want to be just keep pushing yourself!
