Hi Itzayana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Starting a beauty business was never something I fully envisioned on the early stages, after having my first born I quickly realized I did not want to go back to my 9-5 days stuck in a cubicle for 8hrs or more a day. I had been doing hair and makeup for family and friends throughout the years anytime they needed me, and what started as a hobby and passion for beauty since my young days converted into what is now a business with its own identity. Shortly after opening my Instagram page and started offering my services as a makeup artist locally I started to look for a lash school in town and that is when I found Glance Lash Academy in 2022, the community we built there was truly amazing. It all began in a small room in my home, where I transformed a spare bedroom into a cozy space dedicated to lash extensions. At first, it was just a way to express my love for beauty and creativity, working with close friends and family. I was thrilled by the way a simple set of lashes could light up someone’s face and boost their confidence.
The journey wasn’t easy. There were countless late nights and early mornings, balancing client appointments, product research, and learning the intricacies of the beauty industry. My home quickly became a hub of activity—order deliveries stacked by the front door, a living room filled with samples, and a kitchen table turned into a workstation for crafting new lash styles. It was chaotic, but it was also exciting.
As word spread, my client base grew, I realized I needed more space and a professional environment to match the quality of work I was striving to deliver. That’s when I made the leap from my home room to a private suite.
Moving into a private suite felt like a huge step—it was a commitment to my business and a signal that I was ready to take things to the next level. The new space has allowed me to create an experience for my clients that is both luxurious and personal. It has become a haven where they can relax and leave feeling more beautiful and confident than when they walk in.
But I didn’t stop there. My passion for lashes has grown beyond just applying them—I wanted to create products that would help others achieve the same results. This led to the launch of my lash product line. It was a natural progression, driven by the desire to offer high-quality supplies that I could stand behind. I spent months researching and testing, ensuring every product met my standards. Now that I finally introduced the line to my clients, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. At Faced By Beauty, we believe in more than just great products; we believe in building a community of like-minded individuals who share our values and vision. We pride ourselves in providing top notch quality supplies and services for all.
I have now expanded to offer a variety of services that go from lash extensions, Ombre powder brows to makeup & now of course quality lash supplies.
Now, working independently in my private suite with my own lash product line, I feel a deep sense of fulfillment. I’ve built something that started with just a small room and a dream. Knowing this is truly just the beginning for the scale that this small business has allowed me to dream its incredible, because I can say we are only getting started. It’s a reminder that with passion, hard work, and a commitment to quality, you can turn even the smallest beginnings into something truly beautiful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can say it definitely has not been an easy road, I started my business as a way to create a new income while also allowing me to be as much time as I could be with my daughter. I now have two beautiful babies and between handling two babies, clients and getting a new product line off the ground to now starting nursing school I have had instances where I do not know if I have lost my mind already or if I’ll lose it later… (lol). Hopefully that does not happen anytime soon, but I do know I believe in myself and my vision so ferociously and that is what makes the hard days a tad bit easier.

Here at Faced By Beauty Studio we specialize in all things beauty, I provide lash extensions and have expanded my services to now include eyebrow services such as ombre powder brows which is a cosmetic tattoo. I also offer occasional makeup and hair services for special events. After so many hours of crafting the most perfect lash sets on clients I have now developed my own quality product supply line for lash artist all around the world, something that I always try to live by is delivering good quality work, whether that comes in services to clients or now products. I strive to deliver the best that someone can possibly find, my vision for my brand is clear and I am committed to providing and helping lash artist elevate their own craft with quality supplies they can trust on.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Something I have learned from Covid-19 has been to definitely bet on your own self more than you bet on others. This can come in any form, family, friends, relationships, jobs etc. Go for your dreams and believe in them, because if you don’t believe in yourself than no one else will.
